ROUTE DI STELVIO (MILAN TO VENICE)

MVpng_edited.jpg

Route di Stelvio

(Milan to Venice)

Breathtaking route through the Italian Alps and Dolomites also taking in the Italian Lakes and the vineyards of the Prosecco region.

6 days of riding, 395 miles with 10,090m of climbing and 10,154m of descent. Average of 66 miles per day. The welcome meal and tour briefing will take place in the medieval town of Monza and we begin the ride around the great park that also contains the famous gran prix circuit. We leave the city and head towards the Italian Alps via Lake Como and on the way visit the Madonna del Ghisello a sacred chapel on a hillside dedicated to cyclists. Once in the Alps we take on one of the all time great climbs to the summit of the Stelvio Pass. The tour then continues East towards the Dolomites and the beautiful Sellaronda circuit with the dramatic rocky outcrops before heading South towards our final destination of Treviso via the picturesque vineyards of the Prosecco region. On the last evening we sometimes take the short train ride into the heart of Venice to celebrate or equally satisfying is to enjoy the delights of Treviso also known as little Venice.
